The MAC is better than CUSA or SunBelt, right?

The MVFC is the MAC right now.

    Stolen from myself ...

    Food for thought:

I'd love to see head-to-head series today between the MAC and the MVFC.

Seeds/games would be based on final Massey Ratings (all DI CFB) from 2021, namely:

    NDSU 42 vs CMU 82
    SDSU 81 vs WMU 83
    UNI 101 vs NIU 93
Mo St 105 vs Toledo 95
    SIU 108 vs Miami 99
USD 111 vs Ball St 109
    UND 119 vs Kent 113
    YSU 145 vs EMU 118
Ill St 149 vs Buffalo 129
Ind St 160 vs Ohio 141
    WIU 168 vs BGSU 151
Murray St 186 vs Akron 179

Murray State isn't MVFC quite yet, but I needed a 12th team.

The Sagarin ranking comparisons are similar (MVFC vs MAC):

    NDSU 38 vs CMU 69
    SDSU 71 vs WMU 72
    UNI 99 vs Toledo 80
MO St 103 vs Miami 87
    SIU 109 vs NIU 93
USD 117 vs Ball St 104
    UND 119 vs EMU 107
    YSU 143 vs Kent 108
Ill St 158 vs Buffalo 125
Ind St 169 vs Ohio 132
    WIU 179 vs BGSU 153
Murray St 191 vs Akron 181

The MVFC right now is the "western MAC", without the FBS label (and revenues and expenses).

Couldn’t they be doing it right now???

And who are these two FBS who are going to schedule the Bison
once they have FBS membership??? They could be doing it right now,

I’m always interested in seeing articles on this, from substantive sources.
Show where all NDSU needs is CUSA or independent membership in FBS and these teams would be willing to schedule NDSU.
cuz the stigma of ndsu being fcs isn't there

we'd actually be FBS and we'd use our regional schools as minor leagues & pluck the best players whenever we want.
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

There's national interest in NDSU. The Fargodome is a ruckus environment and a fun challenge for opposing teams. They love to shut the crowd down. Schools want to play and beat NDSU. But as an FCS school, the risk is far greater than the reward. On the other hand, NDSU as an FBS school--if they lost to us (especially in the dome), it would be a "good" loss for them. There's no reason to think NDSU could not find FBS opponents if we were in the FBS.
I don't care what Jim says. That is not the real Ben Franklin. I'm 99% certain.

P5 schools are not going to be interested in coming to the Fargo Dome, especially if we perform as expected in FBS.
P5 schools want easy OOC wins, not a chance at a loss to a G5.

We would be lucky to get the P5's to give us good buy games.

MAC is ok as a lateral move to get us into FBS. But anyone thinking that will give us big time home games doesn't understand how this works.
A B1G, SEC or PAC school has little to gain by visiting Fargo.

Also, we should wait to see what shakes out with the PAC/MWC. Some people have us listed as a PAC long shot, and MWC would be a far superior long term home. Once we make a move, it won't be easy to move again in less than 5 years.

No, you absolutely don’t get it.
The latest thing you are trying to sell - again - is NDSU would have this wonderful schedule - if they were just FBS. Then FBS schools would schedule the Bison.
    News flash!!!
Those FCS schools I just listed are the FCS schools the Minnesotas and the KStates and the others are already playing.
The last I checked none of them are FBS.
I even took it easy on you and Professor Bum by not including FCS schools they are playing in 2022 and 2024, since NDSU long ago scheduled Arizona & Colorado for those years. For example, Minnesota plays Western Illinois this fall, Iowa plays the Jackrabbits.

You need to read more than the latest post of a conversation if you're going to weigh in. I was responding to a post that alleged we would never get any decent G5 schools to come play us. I never said we'd get P5 schools to come to the Fargodome.

Fair enough, though I don't think Boise St or a BYU caliber school will be eager to play at Fargo either. The only guaranteed games are those in the conference we join.

It's fun for us, but I don't think our opponents enjoy playing at Fargo, even in FCS. They just don't get a choice in the playoffs.
Do some FCS teams want to play NDSU? Probably yes if outside Fargo, but many would be happy to not see us in their bracket at all.

Honest question : would you and Chapo be happy if we joined the MAC and had to play primarily those schools for the next 15 years?
MTSU fans say the MAC wanted a 15 year GoR as a condition of joining.

I'm not against the MAC, but do think we might regret that if in the next 6-12 months an MWC opening came along.
