The closer you get the demand definitely goes down because more people self opt out because they can't make travel plans. Every year though the price continually went down and tickets were available at or near face value especially as the face value went up. Pay what you want to pay to go but if you are patient you will get a better price closer to the game. And the more specific you are with your seat (i.e. front row, 50 yard line) the more you will likely spend.
