2021 Playoffs, Quarterfinals: ETSU Preview

As someone who has been in Drum Corps and directed competitive drumline for a decade, I can confirm their band is legit. Very legit.

JSU is tops, then JMU and I would throw these guys as a notch better than Delaware. and then lightyears ahead of basically every other band whose team we've played against

I remember those that JSU band - they were great at the 2015 chipper. PLUS, unlike their FB team they did not trash talking.

I hope others don't have the same issues our group does getting to this game. Too many kid's sports happening this weekend and a few other plans leaves our group of 20+ only using 5 of our tickets. The other group we tailgate with is only using a few of their 15+ tickets as well. Some pretty good will be available for those that want them tomorrow. Hopefully we can get a good crowd for ESPN on Saturday.

I remember listening to the Mississippi Valley State game on the radio and the band played incredibly loud and never stopped, even through the plays. It was pretty dang funny listening to Scotty and Phil struggling to concentrate to broadcast the game at times.

So, last Saturday in the spirit of playoff football, I dispatched my extremely wonderful wife to the very legit Texas BBQ biz just north of us here in Hanover for some goodies for the game. She brought back over $100 worth of slow smoked brisket, baby back ribs, Mac n cheese, brisket burnt ends, baked beans and Cole slaw for my Saturday round 2 game experience. For an army of 1.

I could not finish.

Let that sink in. I could not finish even though ambrosia was on my table.

I’m gonna fix that just now and clean it up.

Thinkin ETSU peeps do NOT have this level of accumulated wisdom.

I'd guess there will be fewer than the 12,500 that were there for the SIU game. Every year since we quit selling out playoff games (since 2017) there has been fewer people at the quarterfinal game than at the 2nd round game.

That said we'll probably still have the highest attended quarterfinal since both the Montana schools are going on the road and JMU has even bigger issues selling playoff tickets.
