Is it the scrub teams in MVFC and Big Sky that are pushing for 32?
I can't imagine that NDSU/SDSU or Montana/Montana St care to expand it and play more conference mates twice.

It would be one thing if people were showing up to watch these games but in addition to there being no competitive reason to add more teams it seems like you’re just throwing good money after bad.

Good point. Because FCS championship is funded by NCAA and has cost containment applied to the playoffs, you can bet there would be even more regionalization overall. Each game would have to "cost less" on average to stay under the cap.
It would be like playing for the conference title twice before advancing.

Serious question here, what happens if two playoff teams slated to play each other do not place a bid to host and neither one wants to host the game????? Lets say for fear of actually losing money to host it, such as a school that only draws around 2K or less in attendance. Does the NCAA actually force one of them to host the game?
