My gut tells me our offense takes a step forward today. Bison 31-13.

North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

Things I’ll be watching today include:

    - Bears QB Jason Shelley, all 5’ 11” 197 of him.
Will this be good practice for NDSU and a potential Eastern Washington/Eric Barriere game?
Early on, after the Montana win against a ranked Washington team, there appeared to be 5 legitimate FCS title contenders. NDSU, JMU, SDSU, Sam Houston and the Griz. There was also the potential for several others to get to that level. Well, Eastern went on to beat Montana head-to-head, so have replaced them in that national conversation. Others, e.g. Southern Illinois, are now knocking on the door.

    - How does NDSU’s pass rush approach this game?
    A containment type rush???
Or a full pin the ears back get after him rush???
Or something in-between, with a few blitzes thrown in???

    - Will one, or both, Bison CB’s be on islands or will there be over-the-top/ LB help?

    - Will the Bison establish the pass early? For the second game in a row.
A lesson from NDSU’s past imo is sometimes the Bison do need to establish the pass to open up the run.

    - Will Petrino & Co follow the Bubba blueprint and send run/pass blitzes more often than not?
If so, how does NDSU respond?

I'll be watching to see if we put a spy on Shelley early and who it will be. Any word on Kazor and Luepke for this game?

I’m confident we’ll win today, but not sure exactly what type of game it will be. I can see anything from a 24-17 type win that makes BV implode to a 38-10 type easy win that makes BV implode.
