instead of you guys arguing on kelly watson's pwo thread.
lets just argue here in an overall recruiting thread.

NDSU is getting lit up by FBS teams and our Coaching Tree.

Not entirely Entz/Roehls faults, so maybe the NDSU admin could help them solve 1 of the dilemma's.

Back to Recruiting. NDSU needs to change it up a bit I'm afraid, the past 10 years NDSU has been great at grabbing the top of the FCS list and an occasional FBS flip. they don't throw out a ton of offers and want to make sure when they offer that kid commits to NDSU.

I like that theory, as do most of you. here's what I don't get. YES WE DON'T WANT NDSU OFFERING KIDS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY just cuz they are 2 & 3 stars. but by all means, all the FBS caliber kids in the 5 state region SHOULD ALL HAVE AN OFFER FROM NDSU.

    make sense?
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

I agree on ex coaches. David Braun offered Haggerty and that will hurt our chances

Klieman and Bohl were absolutely better recruiters. One could argue they had worse resources too. No IPF. Outdated locker room. No SHAC and had to use a converted grocery store as a weight room. Bohl even had to practice on Dacotah Field with no lights and the 80s style astro turf during a blizzard

Bohl also benefited from Tim Brewster passing on all the local MN recruits, which helped…

Did Bohl and Klieman have other FBS coaches poaching recruits like they do now after the success SU has had on the field and players that went to the pro's? Totally different setup now with that and the TP.

3 for 1 deal? We give Dom Jones, Kobe Johnson and Tony Pierce. In return Langston Williams? Hopefully there is a prospect to be named later or some cash considerations in the deal.

Just glad they are being active in the portal trying to fill these scholarships.

A couple of interesting comments in here about Langston Williams

    https://coloradostate.sportswar.com/...tionathletics/

The one I noticed most was that shorter CB’s don’t fit in “the Norvell system”
The CSU roster list’s Williams at 5’ 9”.

Had a nice recruiting profile, 3 star with offers from Wyoming & Army also.

But all in all seems like a depth offer. The good news, if he commits, is he will get playing opportunity in Fargo. With his speed and explosiveness might also be helpful on special teams. Is similar in size to last year’s 3 star CB recruit, Jaquise Alexander.

Pretty unfair to compare Bohl's recruiting chops with 10+ classes and Entz with 5. The foundation of Bohl's early success was built on Babich recruits like Walker, Mays, Steffes, etc (much like some accuse Entz of doing with Klieman's recruits over the last few years). Bohl really struggled with his recruiting in 2006 and 2007 which reared it's head in the results in 2008-2010 - I think he even mentioned he felt they got lazy thinking their success on the field would translate to better recruiting without putting in the extra effort. Obviously he righted the strategy with the 2009 and 2010 classes but those would've been his 7th and 8th classes (I think???).

Klieman was and is an absolute stud of a coach and a recruiter but we're not going to see coaches like Klieman very often at this level.

    Not sure if it's a late 2023 offer or a 2024 offer?

JUCO OL Caleb Jones from Iowa Western CC originally from Beatrice, Nebraska. 6-4 290lbs.

And now the school to the north follows
    with an offer to Jones.

Does seem like a ‘23 offer. 3 years eligibility with a redshirt year available. Jones did say NDSU was his first offer. The Bison could use some OL depth with transfers.
They have so many seniors and super seniors - roster management* -
that I can see why no Transfer Portal one year additions were brought in on the OL.

*will that phrase trigger someone who shall not be named?
