Right? Huntington Bank Stadium seats almost 51,000 but it has no roof. Hell it doesn't even have structure all the way around. It cost $303M to build between 2006-9.

They should be starting the concourse expansion in the next few years and I expect to see a convention center added to it as well

We raised 40 million for an indoor practice facility during covid. Gotta set our goals higher like 300 million for an indoor stadium. Lots of creative ways to do a private public partnership
NDSU needs to play hard ball here. I am 100% against adding a convention center to the Fargo Dome. This is on campus space and does not benefit the University or it's football program. It also locks us into the 19,800 seating footprint forever. It makes no sense.

I've never understood this either. The FD is 30 years old already and was outdated as soon as it was completed. Why keep pumping millions into it when it would be cheaper in the long run to replace with something state of the art?

Because it is a really nice facility for a city the size of Fargo to have, even if it is 30 years old.

The only thing "outdated" about it seems like the lack of nice suites but, that's not the end of the world is it?

Affording a new stadium will get incredibly harder if it MUST be indoor. I don't see ANY scenario at all where that can happen. To me, it is laughable to even suggest it. There are certainly downsides to an outdoor venue but the upsides are much greater to giving up the notion of perfect comfort year round. Even an outdoor stadium with construction costs the way that they are will be $300M at a minimum.

As someone else pointed out, you can't look at the cost of ANYTHING older than 5 years to do a cost comparison.

Wasn't there a rendering of a convention center attached to the west side with one or two rows of suites (skyboxes?) above the top row of seats in the current configuration?
It's OK to not be OK.

Blue Seats, 30 year old red cloth seats with shit stains on it, not enough bathroom space, absolutely no luxury options or entertainment/club options, way too few seats, outdated press boxes, concourses way too small, dining options are easily worse than hardees.

i mean besides THOSE things, its basically US Bank Stadium
    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS
