NDSU wrestled D2 Augustana (a middle of the pack NSIC team) today and didn't exactly blow their doors off.

Evens got blown out by a true freshman ranked 14th in D2 (and a MN kid...), March lost to the 9th ranked D2 guy, and Sax started at 149 and won in OT, despite getting no takedowns in regulation.

March just hasn't been good in about a full year. He had one good meet last year, which happened to be the first meet of the year, and then did nothing. He's had no offense this year and has not looked good. Seems talented, but he doesn't do anything notably well from neutral.

Nelson lost to the #16 ranked D2 guy, giving up 2 takedowns, and getting ridden the entire 2nd period. That's bad.

Right now 125 and 184 aren't D1 caliber, and 133 and 149 are below average. Winning 7 matches vs an ok D2 school isn't acceptable.

The lineup they trotted out with Evens, March, Sax, and Nelson isn't good enough.

Schumm, M Weber, and Caliendo won the Dragon open.

    Radenz was a runner up.

Parker, Mora, and Negrete didn't wrestle

Looks like Sam Stuhl has been removed from the roster. He was 4-2 this year. WrestleStat has him listed as being in the transfer portal. I believe his younger brother is a starter at D3 power Augsburg so maybe he heads there.
Bison fans are blessed. Enjoy it.

I hope we see him starting somewhere in the second semester. He looked like he took a step this year, but wasn't going to be a factor at NDSU. Seemed like a great kid, so I hope he finds a good landing spot

Agree. Wish him the best. Also hoping for a couple second semester transfer ins to bolster the lineup and depth at a few weights.

Colby Evens and Cole Gripka are no longer listed on the roster.

Juan Mora has had the better results at HWT, and the match notes for this weekend have Henningson making his return at 125.

Track Wrestling has 13 Bison wrestlers listed for the triangular this weekend in New York. True Freshman Radenz and Parker are on the list of 13. “IF” this list is correct it looks like a couple redshirts may get pulled.

    125 Henningson
    133 March
    141 Droegemueller/Radenz
    149 Sax
    157 Franek
    165 Weber
    174 Brenner/Habisch
    184 Nelson/Parker
    197 Pentz
    HWT Metz
Bison fans are blessed. Enjoy it.

What would the reasoning be behind pulling the Radenz redshirt?

Maybe the kid wants to graduate in four years, get a good job and live his life. Why don’t you ask him????
