NDSU wrestled D2 Augustana (a middle of the pack NSIC team) today and didn't exactly blow their doors off.
Evens got blown out by a true freshman ranked 14th in D2 (and a MN kid...), March lost to the 9th ranked D2 guy, and Sax started at 149 and won in OT, despite getting no takedowns in regulation.
March just hasn't been good in about a full year. He had one good meet last year, which happened to be the first meet of the year, and then did nothing. He's had no offense this year and has not looked good. Seems talented, but he doesn't do anything notably well from neutral.
Nelson lost to the #16 ranked D2 guy, giving up 2 takedowns, and getting ridden the entire 2nd period. That's bad.
Right now 125 and 184 aren't D1 caliber, and 133 and 149 are below average. Winning 7 matches vs an ok D2 school isn't acceptable.
The lineup they trotted out with Evens, March, Sax, and Nelson isn't good enough.
