I hope Mora works out, I don't see a heavyweight currently in the portal that's a significant upgrade. I'm sure there will be alot more movement with the season ending though. If we are going to struggle at a weight I'd rather struggle with a young wrestler rather than a transfer like we did at 125 this year.

Lyon being a #30 seed who went on a run proves that he wasn't as good as Hidlay, better than Jessen, Kane, Cochran and Moore, and not as good Romero. (3 of those matches were Big 10 matchups, and shocker a big 10 wrestler won)

Jessen was #32 and went 0-2 in the same bracket as Lyon that doesn't mean he wasn't qualified. It just means the guys he lost to were better on Thursday.
It’s not about the tournament. It’s about getting in the tournament.
Bison fans are blessed. Enjoy it.

Although the season didn't end the way he wanted, Jared Franek took home the Elite 90 award

    I counted 13 AA from the PAC-12,

Seemed like a tough tourney for the whole big 12 including the top (ok st, Mizzou, IA st?) and everyone else

I agree, had some dissapointing weekends from an all american standpoint.

Blood round took out the following
    125 cardinale, proto, surtin
    141 alirez, Carlson
    149 Gfeller
    157 Franek
    174 Hastings and Mocco
    197 Woodley
    HWT Elam

Disappointed Hendrickson, sloan, teske, hart and biscoglia didn't even make it to the blood round.

Comparing All Americans (AA’s) to the number of Automatic Qualifiers (AQ’s) by conference

    Pac12 - 23 AQ’s/13 AA’s/57%
    Big 10 - 88 AQ’s/39 AA’s/44%
    ACC - 39 AQ’s/10 AA’s/26%
    Big 12 - 58 AQ’s/10 AA’s/17%

I didn’t go back and add in the At Large bids but it wouldn’t have changed a whole lot. PAC 12 had a great tournament with almost 60% of their wrestlers finishing Top 8. ACC had as many AA’s as the Big 12 and its a six team league. IMO makes the Big 12’s performance look even tougher.
