Why take down in the third? You’re down 8-2 and you just got to 1:01 in riding time. You were ridden for a large part of the first period and we’re going to need some TDs or a throw to win anyway. You weren’t going to get out in under two seconds and you’re just Giving back the riding time point for and escape.

What is the situation with the Fernandez kid that beat March? I only see him linked to Spartan Combat RTC. Is that a Cornell gray shirt?

I didn’t go back and look but my memory says three in the semis (Franek, Weber, Metz) and five in the consolation bracket (Sax, Brenner, Habisch, Parker and Nelson). I thought the conditioning was good for the most part and they did some nice things controlling while on top. Still some opportunity from the down position for a number of the guys. Disappointing day for March and Pentz but overall not too bad.

Doesn't Pentz get a lot of his falls off of reversals? That would be the only way it would make sense to me.

Even so in this situation youre down 8-2 and just secured a RT point (1:01) so it’s essentially 8-3. Either go on top and work for the turn or go neutral and go for a throw. To me it didn’t make sense to go down and give back the RT point because you’re not getting out in under two seconds. He’s strong enough to get a throw or a turn IMO. Maybe If you weren’t ridden by the other kid like he was in the first period but he was.
