Juan Mora advanced to the semi finals of the U20 Freestyle US Open with a big win over Hayden Copass. He now has Nick Feldman in the semis.

DJ Parker lost in the quarterfinals after several wins. He took 5th in Greco.

Caliendo lost in the R16 in a tough bracket.

    Schumm still alive.

Former Bison Josh Rodriguez and Hayden Zillmer made the finals in the senior division at 61kg and 125kg. Josh beat world 5th place and 4 time AA Tyler Graff to make the finals. Midkiff lost to Graff and VT AA Sam Latona.

Mora lost a close 2-1 decision in the semis, which surprised me that it was close.

Parker will have UNIs Kaleb Runyon to place. Caliendo will have Buell form Purdue to place.

Caliendo and Mora are in the 3rd place match, and Parker is in the 5th place match. I noticed the guys were wearing "harvest" singlets, which is kind of an interesting look.

Current and former Bison had the podium well covered.

    Zillmer - 1st
    Rodriguez - 2nd
    Caliendo - 3rd
    Mora - 4th
    Parker - 5th

Hayden Zillmer just came from behind to beat Nick Gwiazdowski in the 2nd match of a best of three series at FinalX. The winner of the next match goes to the World Championships at 125-kg. Gwiz is a 2x NCAA champ and a 2x world medalist.

Hayden was down 5-0 with a minute and a half to go vs a 2 time world medalist and Hayden just turned it on and got two great takedowns and a stepout with 9 seconds left.

Beating Gwiz twice is absolutely shocking and one of the biggest upsets to make a world team that I can remember

Awesome!!! Think how far he has come since a 130-lb high school senior, and 112-lb junior.

It's insane the physical growth he's undergone and the huge jump in skill too.

Trevor Brandvold needs to play the 2nd period of match 3 on repeat for Hayden. That is what happens when he is aggressive
