I believe only gothmog and his hatred for Cole has been announcing QP an all time great.

IMO, there's zero chance Payton ever starts over Patterson. We're talking a 4-star HS recruit vs a 2-star. Physically it's a man vs. a boy.

Have you? Quincy is 245 with almost no body fat. At 221, Cole is a chubby little boy by comparison.

You do understand that QP was a 4-star recruit and an Elite 11 finalist. Cole Payton is not in his league.

It's more likely that he ends up in the transfer portal. Quincy has three years of eligibility left. Barring injury, or the NFL Draft, he will be the starter all of those years. Is Cole Payton willing to wait and potentially risk that, by then, NDSU has a new wunderkind recruit?

If stars and the opinion of scouts were all that mattered we wouldn't have won shit in the last ten years. Easton Stick and Brock Jensen wouldn't be the two winningest QB's in division history.

Also, I'm all for QP starting if he's half as good as this guy seems to think. But under 50% completion percentage isn't going to work in our offense. If that isn't corrected I wouldn't count out Payton as early as this year.

QP never got a chance at Va Tech - 22 total completions playing against P5 defenses. That sample size makes his Va Tech statistics meaningless. His completion percentage is low because of one poor game (9 of 28) against Notre Dame in 2019.

The guy has phenomenal arm talent. You needn't worry about his completion percentage in FCS.
