I'll set the hook with an unpopular opinion.

Kudos to Matt Larsen and the admin for this 2023 non-conference schedule. The non-conference schedule that year is home games against Maine (2018 playoff semifinalist) and Central Arkansas (perennial playoff team) along with this quasi-home game against Eastern Washington. That's 3 pretty good FCS programs. The conference home slate that year, like this year, is underwhelming with home games against WIU, Indiana St, USD, and SIU but this should help offset that.

I see the sarcasm, but I legit hope the crime rate goes down before then. The uptick in shootings and car thefts is a little unsettling. I know the odds of being a victim are lower when you are smart, but their is a noticeable crime increase in the Twin Cities area.

I plan to attend this one anyways as it will be a good time.

No question about that. All joking aside I really expect things in the immediate downtown area to improve dramatically once the majority of businesses return their employees to the offices there. I'm hearing that most of them are planning for September although if we start to experience a dramatic uptick in cases here I could see that pushed back. I'll be really surprised if the don't have things back under control by the time this game is played.

The crap going on down around the Uptown area is a different matter. Not sure what it's going to take to fix that. Lot's more cops for sure but I think they are having trouble recruiting for obvious reasons right now.
