Yeah, my family (wife and 2 kids and I) and I were walking around downtown Minneapolis Saturday and Sunday night. Zero incidents.
Now, were my wife and I legally carrying as we wandered around? Yes. But that's true when I wander around Fargo, Harvey, Rolette, Balta or Silva as well. [emoji16]

I'm sure there have been a few "emotional" decisions where in state rivals blocked a school from moving, but that certainly isn't the barrier for us. All conference movements are based on money/economics. For the G5, the economics also encourage them to stay geographically tight.
If we could generate an extra $50-100m/year for a conference, they would be eager to add us.
The other path in is if a conference "needs" to backfill, and we are the best option available.
Its really this simple.
Believe it or not, conferences prefer to add schools that raise the level of play. If NDSU isn't getting invites, it has nothing to do with fear of competition lol.
Plus, immediate success is far from a given. NDSU has never played FBS teams every week. Playing poorly on a Saturday in Terre Haute is more forgiving than Colorado Springs or Fresno or Fort Collins.
