Hostetler was 1 for 4 today; played a solid shortstop; his hit came in the 3? inning when the Bison rallied for 2 runs.

He's hitting .338 and tanked his first homer yesterday.

They've been using him more as at 3rd than SS, which I think is good for him in the long run. Increased opportunity and some positional flexibility.

Brian Anderson is a quality MLB 3B, but they have nothing in the system at third. They focus the draft on plus athletes up the middle (C, SS, CF) and most of their top position prospects reflect that. The problem for the Marlins, and their fans (we do exist, just in limited numbers), is that they've shown no ability to develop hit tools organizationally, and it's left them incredibly thin with impact bats. Most of their SS prospects offer no power and limited bat to ball skills, so they're unlikely to be future 3B barring drastic changes.

Another bomb last night, and he has continued to absolutely rake at the pro level. Still hitting .337 with an .850 OPS and 3 HR, while primarily playing 3b.

On the down side, he has 5 errors and a 32-4 K-B rate and that has come in 111 plate appearances.
