ISUr isnt ISUb. the FCS media considers ISUr to be an FCS blue blood.

I've said this before, but its worth repeating: There are maybe 3 programs that take football seriously in the FCS. Used to be 5 until Montana and Montana State cancelled spring season.

Wow, guys, its so cool that we beat the other 2 programs that care for a national title for the 9th time in 10 years! This comment isnt supposed to diminish NDSU's accomplishments- but it is a sad reflection of the programs that we purposefully choose to associate ourselves with. Sad, Really....
Disagree on your Montana take. Having a Spring season was dumb to begin with. Opting out ahead of time made sense then and will prove to be forward thinking as more programs quit halfway through the season like ISUr. If it becomes an epidemic, don't be surprised if the playoffs are canceled all together.

On the bright side, ISUr did us a huge favor. If we win out and UN_ wins out we will be champs based on winning pct. No backdoor shared titles for the fawkers.

The broader point is this: The FCS doesnt care about football. And to your point- Montana choosing NOT to play football doesnt exactly scream "we're sUpEr dUpEr serious about football"
    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

Semi related question. What does the playoff committee do with JMU? They haven't played last 2 weeks and if they miss another week, when does the playoff committee look at not putting them into the playoffs?

They need three conference games to qualify for the AQ. They definitely need to play a couple more games to get consideration anyways.

The three weeks off is going to be the biggest issue for them. They needed the practice

The only special threshold they claim they have this spring is a minimum of 4 games played for at-large consideration: https://www.ncaa.com/news/football/a...ason-will-work

But I'd have to imagine it's going to hurt you in seeding and at-large consideration be have played half the games that the other teams you're being compared against are playing.

Honestly though, I'm curious about your opinion.
The place looks fantastic. It was the only good thing about last Saturday. The DakotaDome renovation probably puts it at one of the top venues in the conference, probably second to the FargoDome. I have to put CAS in Brookings in a different category since it is outdoors.

The lights don't buzz anymore, lol. In fact, they can now do all the flickering light shows after TD's that you are seeing at the NFL and MLB stadiums.

There are some FBS schools that bailed on the fall season too. See Michigan.

The Montana schools don't have any options to practice indoors which would have put them at a huge disadvantage.
It's OK to not be OK.

Yep they knew it was going to be a glorified spring practice. All we accomplished was more practices and real game time for those that needed it.
If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles"

When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.

It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

This only confirms my point even more. If they were super duper serious about football they would already have an indoor practice facility, which is why theyre trying to build one at Montana state. Montana and Montana state lost their "we're a legit football school" card when they opted out.
