Cam played great and executed at a high level. We have already seen this earlier in the season, Roehl can call a halfway decent game when the opposing defense is clearly overmatched.

The fact remains, operating out of the shotgun 90% of the time and being a power running football team are incompatible. It’s not just about mixing up pass/run, you need to call under center/designed RB runs more than 4 times a game, which also sets up play action. People talking about our Oline isn’t great this year - the blocking schemes are much different for a read option which is a contributing factor IMO. Additionally, on a read option, the ball carrier (QB or RB) is starting from a standstill, whereas in a I Formation handoff the RB actually has some speed and momentum when he receives the handoff, not to mention the fact the RB knows he’s actually going to get the ball on that particular play and the blocking scheme/play is designed to open up a specific running lane (and adds blockers at the point of attack via pulling lineman depending on the play), as opposed to the read option with a zone blocking scheme where the RB essentially has to find whatever crease opens up on a particular play, if they even get the ball.

U can run the read option out of an eye formation but roehl doesn’t do it for some stupid reason.
    If it flies it dies.

Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.

Good post, you could have quoted Vince Lombardi “we are going to run the ball in the alley!” You never saw Bart Starr in the shotgun!

Right, Simpleton, he takes his queues from you on Saturdays. I bet several times a day, he looks up your profile here to read your last few posts so that he knows how to improve his game. Just brilliant.
    Insert something clever here...

I was going to say, isn't that the same team that didn't give him the job last time?
