1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
3. It's time to go FBS
The Ringer is trying to get the Joe Blow Sportsfans pumped up for a spring FCS season: https://www.theringer.com/2021/2/19/...h-dakota-state
So Who’s Gonna Win the FCS Championship?
North Dakota State.
Are You Sure?
Yes. 100 percent. I haven’t found a sportsbook willing to take an NDSU national championship futures bet, but if I do I will instantly put a large sum of money on the Bison winning, whatever the odds.
What Other Teams Might Win?
None of them.
...
North Dakota State received all 147 first-place votes in the preseason FCS [media] poll. Its dominance might make the FCS seem boring, but I like watching it run opponents through the wood chipper. It’s horrifying and soothing, like a TikTok of a guy methodically chopping an onion, but with every other team’s hopes and dreams.

I guess there's a benefit to kicking off the season in the sports wasteland known as mid-February... more national press. Here's ESPN's "Ultimate FCS spring football preview" (requires an Insider membership): https://www.espn.com/college-footbal...orylines-watch
NDSU highlighted in two weeks of the preview from March 19-21 dubbed "Zeb Noland Week" (UND game) and April 2-4 dubbed "Dakota Marker Week".

Then, of course, there's this quote: "... said Curt Cignetti, the coach at James Madison, which nearly won the F.C.S. title game at the end of the 2019 season."
well based on tickets that are flashing all over facebook/craigslist today.... either no one wants to sit with a facemask for 3 hours or spring football is getting the cold shoulder
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
