Maybe Stumpf, but Ogbu went to Shiloh Christian High School in Bismarck.

This will be his last home game. Bismarck native and a transfer from Mankato. Came on late last year and this year he has been dominant

My question is, "How the hell did we miss out on this kid when he was in our own back yard?"

Was he injured in high school? Late bloomer? Under the radar? Bad camp? No camp? Didn't offer his major? Ran out of scholarship money?

He's been a force and he's going to be missed

I'd assume he was a late bloomer who really developed in college. Both he and Michael "the snapping turtle" Buetow have helped transform the d-line from a weakness on the 2019 team (I use that term liberally since that team was loaded) to a strength in 2021.

My goodness this kid is a monster. Every media type has already said it, but dang I wish we could have more than 1.5 seasons with this beast
    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

Recruiting is a very inexact science. Those who are good at it guess right more than they guess wrong. Injuries, family situations, adjusting to college all impact an athletes success in college.

I also think retention is the key to recruiting. The remarkable thing about those 2009 and 2010 recruiting classes for NDSU wasn't just that there was a ton of talent but that they had 75%+ retention IIRC. Retaining players will be ever harder than ever now with all the transfers so hopefully NDSU can continue to stay ahead of it.

Hey Craig Bohl told Adam Thielen D1 wasn't for him, too small and that he should go D2. and voila. the rest is history.

Was it Craig Bohl who told Thielen that or wr coach or assistant at that time?
