This times a million. This isn’t complicated.

FBS is the highest level. They have been playing since the fall. And it is the only level higher than the FCS.

I don't get the whole competitive argument. Does anyone disagree that NDSU would be highly competitive at the G5 level? Not that I've seen. Does anyone disagree that the level of competition would be better at the G5 level? You can argue about the level of difference but I don't think anyone can disagree that it is better at the G5 level.

The whole crux of the problem regarding the move basically comes down to two things; an underfunded athletic department for the G5 level and no natural conference fit. I've said it numerous times but you can shout into the wind about how great the FBS would be until your'e blue in the face but to actually take action you can help kickstart a potential future FBS move right now by:
    1) Donating to the IPF fund so that project can finish. This will get practice facilities to a G5 level.
    2) Improve financial support, and therefore the quality, of the men's basketball program. Since TV/streaming market does not work in NDSU's favor this is the next best way to make a school attractive to an FBS conference.
    3) Get a new football facility built. Unless you think the school can continue to jack up ticket prices/donations or that the school/state and the students are going to increase their financial support (good luck with that) you need to come up with a way for additional revenue streams and the Fargodome is tapped out in that regard.

All of these things involve big time $$$$ and that's going to be even tougher than normal over the next few years most likely but #1 is nearly within reach and #2 is something that can be done in small phases over time. Get those done and you'll set yourself up for success if/when the opportunity to move to the G5 level comes along.

Pretending the G5 and the P5 are the same is the fallacy that has propped up this entire argument.

    FBS means a big deal.
theres 80 teams that have ZERO chance at CFP each year including Minnesota, UCLA, ARIZONA, ILLINOIS ETC.
Are they perceived higher than FCS. hmmmmm?
