    Default RIP, Dr. Robert Wood

    https://www.ndsu.edu/news/view/detail/60107/

Thanks Gully for letting me know.

I try to very hard, despite my nature, to NOT figure out who people are outside of bisonville, but there is a good change that Vet70=Dr. Robert Wood. For example, I think that the pic in Vet70's profile is a Vietnam service ribbon with two battle stars.

    Also, there is this*: http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...49#post1308249

I spent some time this morning reading Vet70's old posts. Now, he kept them short, possibly because longer posts would reveal his identity via writing style, but even a faint echo of the man is better than silence.

    * Which made me laugh out loud

    Dang it.

Loved his absolute dry humor and his attempts to instill political logic in a divided world.

Honestly, it was an honor to have him post here.

I had some PM conversations with Vet70 back in the March-April timeframe. We did not exchange actual names but we gave each other our single sentence CV's. Based on that I feel confident that you are correct in this conjecture. At the time he was spending quite a bit of time on health issues at the VA and he was not feeling good about his future.

I enjoyed getting to know him a bit more personally and I am sorry that he has left us.

RIP. I met him on my tailgating journeys thru the west lot.

He was my favorite professor at NDSU. The class was the hardest I ever took.

I literally just mentioned him to someone this morning.

Yes, Vet70 is Dr. Wood. By far my favorite professor at NDSU...I was able to reconnect with him in person because of Bisonville.

    RIP, Dr. Wood.

For anyone who remembers, this is one of the most memorable threads (in a very good way) that I can recall on BV, a countdown to the 2018 season, started by Vet:

    http://www.bisonville.com/forum/show...ight=Countdown

I think it's a good example of his researching skills and wit.

I intended on connecting with Vet at a tailgate sometime but it seems like our paths could never cross at the right time. I regret never meeting him and his voice here will be missed dearly. My sincere condolences for those who did know him.

Rest in peace, Vet. Once a Bison...
