What's your theory here 123? can't wait to hear it.

For a guy who has not played any competitive game since last 4 years, he looked okay. 1) He needs live game reps and experience. 2) He needs to absolutely make the short easy throws. 3) Improve his accuracy.

It's nuts to think about the fact that he's played 4 meaningful games plus one quarter (and calling that Central Arkansas game in October 2020 meaningful is being generous) since 1/11/20 - which is now over 1300 days ago.

Purdy will get figured out. Will he adjust? Lance will get another chance. Will he take advantage of it?

Yeah, I'm not high on Lance as he has not shown much of anything so don't take this as ripping Purdy because I want Lance to start ... Purdy was the last pick in the draft for a reason and he came in to a very high level team and did well. I have no idea how so many media types and radio personalities seem to think he is just going to "pick up where he left off" and bring the 49ers deep into the playoffs. I can hear the excuses already about how he "was never the same after the injury". The guy has not proven anything at all. Unfortunately for Trey he has managed to prove even less.

Purdy can't throw over 50 yards and he can't run but Trey can. I think Purdy will start the first 3 games if he is not that good then Trey will start.

Unless Purdy gets injured, I’ll be surprised if Trey sees the field… and even then, Darnold has more (and you could argue “better”) experience, so maybe not even at all…

So Purdy is going to get worse? I expect him to play better. All 1st team snaps. Plus a very successful year and will be confident He might not have a cannon for an arm but he processes quickly and has a quick release.
