This is a HUGE opportunity for Trey. Road game against a team playing for the division title, with a playoff spot pretty much on the line for the 49ers.

Jimmy G's fate was sealed when they drafted Trey as the number 3 pick overall.
Trey's performance will have nothing to do with Jimmy's fate, good or bad.

Jimmy will be traded in the off season to a team who needs a proven QB. (broncos, panthers, saints, steelers, washington, etc...)
However, I'd be very surprised if the niners make the playoffs with a win (or a loss and help) this weekend and don't start Jimmy if he is healthy. He is their best option to win right now, and it would only increase his trade value if he performs.
