Both of the 49ers starting quarterbacks (Lance and Purdy) are injured. It would be rather irresponsible for a GM to not look for additional QB’s to fill in as needed, no?

I do think it is interesting. Both San Francisco and Miami went through multiple QBs this season. Both run the outside zone scheme that the Shanahan's have developed over the years. McDaniels brought the system with him to Miami. I am starting to wonder if the way the offense is designed it doesn't expose QBs to more hits. I mean its pretty wild to see that Trey Lance, Jimmy Garappolo, Brock Purdy, Tua Tagovailoa, and Teddy Bridgewater all were hurt during the season. Miami was forced to their 3rd string for the playoff game in Skylar Thompson. 49ers to their fourth string in the playoffs in Josh Johnson.
