Are there rookie contracts that don’t have a final year?

I believe the more accurate description would be "the optional 5th year on a rookie contract." All first round picks in the NFL draft have an automatic fifth year option added to contract.

In his latest mock draft Mel Kiper has the Patriots trading up to #9 for Trey: https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/i...e-three-trades

He has 4 QBs going off the board before that (he's been lower on Lance this entire time compared to McShay).

Spoiler alert: he has Trey at #3 behind Lawrence and Fields but is very fair (and complimentary) in his analysis I thought. Made me realize how I took Trey's arm talent for granted last year.
