He came from a horrible place but I always thought he was a very good player. There was a stretch of years where it seems like the Vikings had a lame passing game but could run on even good defenses and he was a huge part of that. I remember plays where he mauled DEs with zero o-line help
Some interesting draft chatter regarding Lance in this article: https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/i...ass-names-know
Cliffnotes for those who don't have access:
- Kiper thinks Fields has clearly separated as the #2 QB and Lawrence is clearly #1... he expects them to go 1/2 in the draft.
- Kiper expects 5 QBs to go in the 1st round and both he and McShay agree that Lance is the best prospect amongst the rest of the QBs.
- McShay raised concerns about Lance's lack of experience and development thus far while praising his physical traits like size, mobility, and arm strength as "tools that NFL teams crave".
Kiper also called out Dillon Radunz when asked about his favorite prospect who probably won't be drafted on night 1 of the draft.
Would seem like a really odd decision since they just used a 2nd round pick on Jalen Hurts last year and they're pretty much still married to Wentz for at least another season if not two more. I really hope it doesn't happen since I have zero confidence in Philly's current leadership. Heard an interesting tidbit during the Monday night game... since Doug Pederson was hired and Howie Roseman resumed GM duties after the failed Chip Kelly experiment they've drafted one player who's made a Pro Bowl. His name is Carson Wentz.
