    There was an article in The Forum a week or two ago suggesting the backups may see lots of action in the spring. If that happens, it would be interesting to see if that changes in the playoffs.

    Maybe the ncaa wakes up and realizes it is time to disconnect football from any DI requirement. A school should be able to be to be DI in all other sports except football and if they don't want scholarships in football, welcome to D3 for football only. You don't get to be cake eaters. No benefiting from D1 football without funding it properly. The other sports are fine being D1.

    Hockey isn't offered at the D2 level so schools are allowed to play up in D1.

    it's because hockey is considered a minor sport by the NCAA.....not smack, it's literally the case
