None of our quarterbacks have been big yardage stat stuffers. We run the ball and play defense. Just look at the previous qb stats this past decade.

Jensen: >250 yard passing games: 2 (1 being >300 yards)
Wentz: >250 yard passing games: 3 (1 being >300 yards)
Stick: >250 yard passing games: 5 (2 being >300 yards)
Lance: >250 yard passing games: 1 (1 being >300 yards)

Point being, we never pass a lot. Only 10 times in 9 years have we had a qb pass for over 250 yards and only 5 times over 300. Hell, Trey Lance only threw over 200 yards 3 times in 17 starts. Yet despite all this, we are 130-8 with 9 conference titles and 8 national championships. Zeb will be just fine throwing the ball. As long as we can run the ball and play good defense like always, we will keep winning, which is all that matters.

I remember the good old days when this forum was nothing but "run the damn ball".

Coaching staff knew YSU wasn't going to pose much of a challenge and weren't going to dig any deeper into the playbook than needed. Game was never in doubt. Long slow dull grind em out football. Honestly some of you act like this is the first time you've ever seen this before.

How many 3rd and longs got converted by pass during that stretch?

Pretty hard to complete a pass against a good defense when you lock onto one receiver the entire play.

Brock never improved, Easton never improved, Wentz never improved and Lance never improved (actually, I think Lances best game was his first lol). Anyway, point is, Quarterbacks only get worse over time. Thats why you only ever see true freshmen win the Heisman trophy.

You think Lance was good as a rFreshmen? Imagine how good he could have been if we had him starting for us as a 7th grader!

Pack it up guys- Zeb's just not the guy. #FireZebSaveSeason
Wow. I didn't say any of that but carry on with your drama.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

Potentially a similar situation as 2008/2009. We just might not have a better option this spring. Hopefully one of the two new QBs coming in can get up to speed quickly. Luckily, Patterson is already on campus.

Looks like coaches didn’t have a good recruiting strategy to deal with the early departure of a starting QB.
