One scenario that popped in my head... possibly offered some $ w/ Lane Tucker finalizing his non-return. But who knows really. Happy to have John on board.

There's the whole late recruiting period as well. Entz mentioned in his presser yesterday that they're saving a few scholarships for the late period and he didn't sound like a big fan of the transfer portal but I'd assume they'll look to the portal or to high school players falling through the cracks (like Courtney Eubanks a couple years ago) to fill out the scholarship class in February.

nothing left in minnesota besides 2 top 20 guys, ND/SD is already need picked clean. Wisc/Iowa top 20-30 kids are pretty much set.

This is not the team we are built to be.....we develop players to fit out system we do not change our system to fit the players on our team. Trey exploding and leaving hurts us in the spring, Which by the way I fully supported, go get your young man, but this fall with time to prepare we were ready. We bring in football players and get them to reach their potential through time with Kramer, coaching them up and getting them to buy into the program. Become a member of the herd and know what your strengths are. Quincy Patterson is a prime example he knows its more about the team than the individual, watch his video interview, he doesn't like it but accepts it and you can damn sure bet he isn't sitting around whining about it, he is working everyday in practice to get better and push for more time, which he will get. I don't care how many fucking stars or accomplishments a player has if he can't buy in and put the overall picture before himself I don't want him. We find character guys that are willing to do what is necessary to compliment the team. The portal is filled with guys unhappy and ME centric, for every Tamerik or Quincy there are 40 others who would never fit. I have confidence our coaching will continue to find those guys that do or already have through the recruiting process. Current examples...Jackson Hankey, Cody Mauch, Jake Kava, The Mossarts'.....This list is long of PWO's that have went on to not only be valuable contributors but also many all time greats. Take your stars and....we you know.

(OF COURSE we aren't going to take 5 portal kids or more, you're right NDSU doesn't do that )

my point is that things are different, the top players in 5 state region are committed already
