I doubt its the end, the margin for error in FCS is pretty substantial. Doesn't seem likely to benefit the program though. Who knows, it'll probably end up being fine but alienating the fan base seems like a silly move. When you push people away, you cannot expect them to come back though some will.
    Exactly!

Here is another one.....bison club and camps make up a nice chunk of the budget. I know for a fact parents are rethinking of sending their kids to the youth camps if it means possible exposing them to a certain political ideology.
Is that rational ......idk. it does go to show you just how fast this shit spreads and the ramifications.

Again, when u r at work focus on work. Leave your activism for your private time.

So you agree they are being selfish.

Which kids are you talking about? Football? Volleyball? Track? etc etc. Football drives the train. When football loses money it affects everything down stream.

Ndsu would be wise to treat the football field like a work environment. What you do on your own time is your business, but when you come into work you leave your politics at the curb.
    Boom!!!!!!

All I am saying is that I don’t think it’s practical or fair to expect players to not to want to use their platform to talk about an issue that is important to them, and I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect coaches to silence their players on this issue. I absolutely agree and would prefer that it not be a part of the game, but this is the world we live in and I think we can donate and enjoy football while just ignoring these things if we don’t like them. My 2 cents.

Obviously there are certain issues I would encourage our fans not to ignore, but ultimately I just want us all to get along and enjoy some good football.

Its not their platform. Its NDSUs and the programs platform. If they want to use the fact that they are a known student athlete then they need to send their message
in a different time and place. Have a rally in the student union etc etc etc. When you enter the dome check your politics at the door along with your attitude.

Why should we ignore their behavior???? Just because they happen to be an athlete? That doesnt happen in the accountability world.

Might as well put names on the back of the Jersey. Its obvious some are just playing for their issues and not the team.

This does not help the team.

Maybe, but is it their responsibility to fund the entire athletic department? Again we are putting the coaches and administration in a tough situation. Does the coaches have the ability to set a tone for their team? Sure. And on top of it .. it's a University, an institution built on sharing of ideas.

It seems like a good opportunity for them to learn then that there are costs to using your platform in a manner adverse to a lot of people.

I am not sure what the coaches should do or shouldn't do, I'm glad I'm not in their position. It will be difficult to determine the cost moving forward, since I'm sure the virus stuff will have a substantial impact on donations as it is, but ideally it would be nice if the coaches could show them the impact of taking controversial positions on the field and show them how that will impact the university and their fellow athletes.
