This game was never about playing football. this game's only purpose was to allow for the maximum amount of practice time this fall.

If you read between the PC lines, that's what it sounded like to me as well. Smart from a development standpoint.

If we get a big lead, part of me wants to see Zeb throw a few touchdown passes and part of me wants to see the 3rd stringers get some playing time.

Coach Entz came right out and said what the difference was in hours of practice and hours of coaching contact in the podcast.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie

So this game is basically a scrimmage like the spring game. But it's good they are maximizing practice.
