So, why is the Valley still living in Spring fantasy land? And FCS in general? Do they not realize many teams do not have indoor facilities?

I wonder. Is the reason perhaps that many (most) FCS programs including some in the Valley cannot afford all the testing? I ask that without actually knowing what the testing costs.

According to this link (which I spent all of ten seconds researching so take it for what it's worth):
    https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/...ayment-policy/

Confirmation of an active SARS-CoV-2 infection (the virus that causes COVID-19) is done via tests that use molecular “PCR” amplification and antigen-based lab technology. Data from 78 hospitals with listed prices yielded 134 distinct prices for diagnostic tests. The prices ranged between $20 – $850 per diagnostic test, with a median of $127. About half of test charges (51%) were priced between $100-$199, and nearly one in five (19%) were priced above $200.
The price of diagnostic tests can vary based on the type of test performed, where its processed, the manufacturer, and CDC affiliation. We found hospital prices for laboratory tests developed by the CDC were generally lower than for other non-CDC tests, and tests utilizing high throughput technology – allowing for faster analysis of samples – were priced higher.

One problem (of many) that I see with spring is that then you'd have to test for football PLUS spring sports (AND hockey if you have it). So what do you gain really? You're just pushing the cost down the road, and doubling it up on other pending costs. I also thought that the tests were getting cheaper now. Sorry, but I just don't see the logic a spring season. Maybe they are banking on a vaccine but that seems like a long shot to me.

Let hope not. There is a $5 quality test that just hit the market. I hope they will stop this insanity now. Fauci was a big fan of it in the CE I did last friday. Sensitivity of 97.1% (low false negs) and specificity of 98.5% (low false positives).
