It's inevitable that student-athletes and staff will test positive at some point... if there is a season there's going to be some big disruptions from players and coaches all of a sudden needing to abruptly leave and quarantine for a week or two if not longer. Not only will the players have to be more flexible than ever to account for absences the coaches are going to have to be ready to pull double duty as well if one of their fellow coaches tests positive.

If there is no football a large percentage of the revenue for athletic departments goes away. If there is no football it's likely most other Fall sports can't be funded. This situation won't be better in the winter because we'll also be dealing with flu season. If there is no basketball because of that, many athletic departments will struggle to survive. They are not sitting on a lot of cash. Most of what comes in goes out. Some expense goes away also but not enough to maintain staff. Athletic staffs and conferences will have a hard time surviving.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles"

When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.

It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

He didn't get a personal message from the AD. That would seem to be the only way certain people would stop accusing others of not doing something behind the scenes.
    Insert something clever here...

Because all they do is wait until last minute and then cancel games. Have yet to see any proposed plans on how to test athletes / coaches / referees, implement quarantine, sparsely locate fans in seating, specifics for tailgating, requirements for masks, etc. Wow, since most fans have already paid for team maker dues and season tickets I think they owe the fans some updates. Sorry PL, we don't have inside information like you do.

Going to extreme responses like you usually do (smart ass comment about needing an update from the AD). Plenty of others on payroll at NDSU who sit in meetings and can give updates to the public who pay for their salaries and keep the program well funded thru ticket sales and team maker memberships.

Schools can't put protocols in place until they have been given protocols from the conference, who can't put protocols in place until they get protocols from the NCAA. It's the main reason why OOC football games are being cancelled, because conferences can't mandate the health regulations of other conferences, and there's been nothing from the NCAA.

Here's an update from the NDSU athletic department from all you entitled ignorant fans who live in the bubble and don't think there's other college football entities. "Conferences are cancelling games, other conferences are cancelling their seasons, the majority of college football conferences won't consider OOC games, most all programs right now aren't even considering the scheduling of new games, nobody will consider playing us as it is, there's already very likely that no fans will will be allowed at the games, signs point every day to the cancelling of the football season." There's your update. NDSU is probably being told from higher up entities to sit pat like every other college program.

But for those of you mandating the answers you think you're entitled to know, email the NDSU athletic department and ask for a copy of their Pandemic Preparedness, Response, and Recovery manual.
