Yeah, trends are not good and getting worse. This thing is a long way from done.

    Default NDSU @ Oregon Predictions

I was more optimistic about it last month than this month....before Florida, Texas, Cali and AZ are starting to shoot straight up.

I think the death lag won’t be as significant as the first round, more young people getting it but ya. I’d say less than 50% the season starts on time, and if there is a season, they’ll maybe try doing mostly conference games.

Hopefully between now and then we can determine the virus has weakened substantially and delay things.

Worst Case, These games will be played with Players only.
I sat in on another NFL presser yesterday.
90% confident they will play NO MATTER WHAT (with or without fans)
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?

College and pro ball are different dynamics. Owner of a NFL team is more likely to pull the trigger and take on perceived (or real) risk vs a college president. Also much easier to isolate pro players vs college athletes that need to attend class.

The Sweden model is looking more attractive everyday haha (marginally worse 1st wave, no second wave. We'll see if there is indeed no second wave in Sweden, unlike what we're seeing here)
    1. The FCS was the Best option for NDSU for a very long time.
    2. As a general rule- the FCS sucks at football and has proven that is not committed to football at all.
    3. It's time to go FBS

I think the reality with the virus is less now how the virus is acting cause it will probably hit 60% of the population and more on how we react when someone gets it. If we are still at the point of isolating everyone including young people that get it than College football is going to be very tough to have cause it will definitely spread with athletics or at least it seems it will.
    If it flies it dies.

Long for the days of freezing in the south stands of Dacotah Field.

Ezekiel Elliot brings up a few cautionary points regarding NFL players too. May not be quite as easy to totally isolate them as perceived on face due to family concerns.

You cant compare this with NFL. Once one conference announces conference only, the rest will follow.

Pac 12 has a real interest in not risking a loss for one of their top teams to an FCS. Even if Oregon is up for it, the conference will likely push conference only.

How does that play for the Ohio State matchup? Probably able to blame that one on Big10 wanting conference only now.

*however if Big10 feels good about OSU over Oregon, that is a big one for their playoff chances for 1 or multiple teams if comes down to that.

Still easier to tighten the circle of NFL players in private vs college players attending classes.
