Something tells me that had Nebraska offered him Cole would've found a way to overlook that disparity in recent pro QB prospects between the two schools.

I more or less agree with you. Still, the recency of NFL draftees coming out of NDSU could certainly impact the mind of an 18-20 year old. Unlikely either Zeb Noland or Quincy Patterson came to Fargo for the weather.
