SEC Tournament canceled. Here it comes.

Michael Osterholm, Infectious Disease specialist at the U of M (pretty well-respected medical facility) estimates this could be a 3-6 month event. He does a pretty good job of breaking the virus down on the Joe Rogan podcast if you are curious in being educated from a non-mainstream source that actually knows what he is talking about.

I think it is likely the event is cancelled, but I hope they can find a way to safely play the games.

Ncaa would cancel the tournament before postponing it. That's already been mentioned. Almost every graduate/undergrad with nba aspirations would be getting ready for the nba at that point and the seeds would be irrelevant. Would be a good case for ndsu but wouldnt happen.

Cancellations came from the AAC, ACC, Atlantic 10, Big Ten, Big 12, Big West, Conference USA, MAC, Pac-12, SEC, Sun Belt and WAC have all canceled their men’s basketball tournaments due to the coronavirus outbreak. Additionally, the America East canceled its conference title game, scheduled for Saturday.

I didn't consider that, makes sense.

With all the conference tournaments cancelled, I can't imagine those schools sending their players to the NCAA tourney. This is going to be a major financial blow to the NCAA and college athletics in general.
