Every year people die in car wrecks traveling to sporting events. "If these sports cancellations/postponements save one life it is worth it." By these peoples' logic, all sporting events should be cancelled forever so that no one dies in a car wreck on the way to the event.

After all, if it 'saves one life.'

Would ha e been some really chapped asses over that. If for no other reason than upsets in the tourney are a given and ALL of the top 16 NEVER make it to the last 16.

I'm not saying that the flu is on par with coronavirus but I've seen some pretty ridiculous things floating around like "If these sports cancellations/postponements save one life it is worth it". We've been killing people by spreading infectious diseases at large gatherings for many years. Sooner or later we're going to have to do the same thing with coronavirus. I'm all for waiting until we have a better handle on it but there is no hiding from it. People will die from it and that's tragic but it's unavoidable.

There were a ton of college athletes that got swine flu, yet dont remember any cancellations. Life went on. Yet one NBA player gets corona and every league calls it quits.

There's no lack of medical infrastructure in the US for dealing with it FFS. I haven't had a FLU shot in 25 years and no one I know has either. Too many of you hypochondriacs run to the doctor because you got the sniffles now days. Again the only people dying from this are elderly, have underlying medical conditions or didn't get treatment.

I keep thinking about this post. You haven't had the flu shot in 25 years and no one you know has either. No one. Not one. Either you know very few people, or you are ignorant, or you assume, or you make things up.
