Tyson Ward will be huge tonight. He averaged 25.5, 8.5 & 4 in the 2 games against UND this year
Just watched NDSU Summit title game highlights that Izzo tweeted out. A couple things I had forgot...Tveidt was huge for us in 09 and was basically the x factor in that game. (Props to lakes for mugging Woody after the game and poking him in the eye.) In 14 Braun was a complete no show until it was time to hit the "and 1" with just a few seconds left. TrayVonn carried us big time that night. In 15 LA was a cold stone assassin and answered every SDSU run with a demoralizing step back 3 pointer.
All three of those games came down to a last second shot that all three of our opponents missed to either win or tie. The margin for error was razor thin and I hope we can avoid that experience tonight and club _ND by 20.

I remember when they did it, and I think the logic was more metaphorical than geographic. I was trying to find an article that explained the name and the only one I found listed the current members at the time (2007).

Valparaiso was on their way out that year. IPFW, NDSU, and SDSU were on their way in. So of that 8, only 2 are still there and 1 of them left for a few years. From the next year only 4 of the 10 are still there including the one who joined that year.
