Wow, sounds like Carl Pelini won't even be given a chance to interview.
With Carl out of the picture, Tressel is lining up an impressive list of candidates including James Madison's offensive coordinator and a former NFL offensive coordinator.

And it sounds like they're going with a high school coach. Supposedly the players will be officially informed today, even though everybody already knows because it was leaked a couple days ago.
Tim Tyrrell from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio. Player and assistant under Tressel back in the 90s.
I should have waited. Now news is breaking that YSU decided to go with Doug Phillips. Supposedly Tyrrell wanted more money to bring in the assistants he wanted so the school took the other guy. But the people saying that are the same ones who were sure it was going to be him, so take it with a grain of salt.
Here's the guy's resume:
COACHING CAREER
YEAR: SCHOOL - POSITION
1991-92: Youngstown State - Graduate Assistant
1997-2000: Springfield Local HS - Head Coach
2001-05: Salem HS - Head Coach
2006: Ohio State - Quality Control (Defense)
2007-08: Bowling Green - DE/Recruiting Coord.
2016: Iowa State - Director of Player Personnel
2017: Cincinnati - Special Teams Coordinator/Tight Ends
2018-: Cincinnati - Running Backs
Not exactly what I meant. More like setting a restrictive budget that the guy couldn't work with. (rumor)
But it is a shit show if even half the things are going on that the YSU fan board claim. That is one unhappy group of fans over there, and they're normally the rah-rah guys. One guy is claiming Phillips wasn't even one of the top-3 chosen by the selection committee, but Tressel came in at the end and overrode them.
Who knows what's true and what's not, but this is not an impressive hire on paper. We'll see how it plays out on the field over the next few years.
