Anyone know if we had to give the student activity fund a reduction for these lost seats? I'm really not in favor of giving them any break, it's their team and they should support it.

I'm pretty sure it's part of the deal if seats are being reduced from the student section. That's an agreement deciding by the Student Government and the Athletic Department. In regards to students needing to support their team, I believe they do regardless if they show up or stay. In an article I posted the morning of the Championship Game over a month ago, a reporter spent time at numerous schools (mostly P5s, I believe) to see why students were leaving games so early. The surprising answer wasn't lack of interest, but due to the elevated cost of education, which has gotten ridiculous, student today feel there is much more pressure to get their diplomas and not fail.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
