    Default Saul Phillips amazing story

This story is catching some popularity locally, and even nationally. What an amazing story. Definitely devine intervention as Saul was in the right place at the right time to help this family. Pretty awesome stuff.

With Don Meyer and now Saul, there’s just something about Northern State head basketball coaches and divine intervention when they are driving. Wow!!

Thats cool but damn...why the hell is he taking his personal vehicle? Seems weird. Apparently that stretch between Sioux falls and wayne sucks.

If you have to ask that question you missed the miracle of the story.

Saul is a great person with no ego. He went from coaching in the MAC to D2 because he lives coaching. Most coaches have an ego that would make that difficult. This does not surprise me.

We haul northerns traveling partner, msum, and the coaches never drive a personal vehicle to the weekends destinations. We were actually stuck in Sioux falls Saturday night too.

I mean it's a good thing he had his car but like you said... it's a miracle he happened to drive it this weekend and be there for the family.

I didnt miss the story but still wondered WHY he would drive his own car instead of being on the bus with his team. Seem strange to me as well.

McFeely’s article said he was planning on staying behind to talk to alumni and boosters after the game in Sioux Falls, but with the inclement weather he decided to leave with the rest of the team.

Who knows, maybe he went to go do his taxes with Stig, got stuck in a snow bank and needed an excuse for a way out?

But that is the miracle of the story. For whatever reason, unbeknown to us, he was put in a dangerous situation & ended up helping others. Maybe even saving others? With their language barrier, & without Saul’s assistance (getting them into his vehicle) & the baby coming... this could’ve had a tragic ending.
