As far as Dresser, interesting interview.

Carr clearly points to his right knee after the exchange in the second (where his knee was in an awkward position as it hit the mat) and wasn't moving well after that. He showed no signs of fatigue prior to that point too. If your superstar points to his knee and gets up gingerly, you take injury time. I've never seen Carr gas in an instant (he rarely gets tired in any match) and I've been watching him for years.

Also, Cook didn't use a "junk hold" and Cook has been doing that to guys regularly. To me that is 100% lack of scouting on Dresser and co. You would have sealed the dual by avoiding the "Junk hold"

As far as Marcus Coleman, he did look terrible. Perhaps part of that is they made him cut to 174 until mid December. You aren't going to regain all of that lost muscle in a couple weeks. Carlson is very good, very strong, and very big. Terrible matchup for Coleman right now. Plus, he wrestled the best collegiate wrestler in the country competitively recently. If you're going to put Coleman on blast, you should do it to Gremmel too. At least Coleman was facing a high quality opponent.

The only wrestling related thing that would mean would be a double stall and I really doubt he was asking for Carlson to get hit for a stall late, and stalling doesn't entail twisting your fists. Throw that in with getting on Carr in between periods when Carlson literally did nothing the first two periods, except get dominated, and I didn't like it.

I really don't like the fans at the SDSU home duals and that probably led me jump to conclusions.
I re-watched it and saw the guy you're talking about it. It seems innocent to me. I'm not sure what the gesture was, but I felt like he was encouraging Carlson to take one more shot.

I can believe that Carr gassed. His second period was a lot less productive than the first, and the out-of-bounds didn't happen until the end of the period. But, it doesn't have to be related to conditioning. Maybe they threw him out there when he was sick.

Cook sure looks like a scary opponent. You don't want to make any high momentum moves against him.

I think you completely misinterpreted...the fan was motioning for Carlson to take one more shot in my opinion, as Radio Bison said above. Nevertheless, it's tough to paint all of the SDSU wrestling fans in attendance in a negative light based on the perceived action of one fan on the video?!?

Also tough to get upset that fans were getting on Carr in between periods and breaks. This happens in every wrestling environment in the country when the home fans sense an opponent is searching for a quick break - no matter the score to the match. He was acting gassed and was taking way too much time to get back to the center/action. Take injury time, or get wrestling. And in my opinion, and I was there watching - he was hurt. I'm convinced Dresser is trying to cover that up in his article.

Even more entertaining was the tension between Dresser and Straw when he came off the mat at 165 after getting pinned in the "Junk hold" by Cook. They literally had to be separated from each other by Metcalf and St. John. Straw was escorted to the locker room.

I'll be the first to agree that there are some fans at SDSU wrestling duals who tend to be loud and I'd characterize as less than knowledgeable about the sport. This is a carryover from the rah rah show that Bono and crew created (like it or not). However, there are also a lot of very knowledgeable and great wrestling fans. And the environment, in general, is very enjoyable and good for the sport.
