I think the thing that tips the scales in favor of 2013 (over 2019; at least for me) was that you knew 2013 was going to win in the playoffs. And they did. Convincingly. 2019 I was feeling good, but not like it was a done deal like I did in 2013.

Can't argue with this. I do think part of that was expectations for the season too. Everyone knew after 2011 that 2012 might slip but 2013 we were going to be amazing...and we were. 2019 for the majority of fans and media it felt like a rebuilding year that we will for sure be in the playoffs and probably a seed but beyond that who knows. We always had that young team with a freshman QB thing looming over our heads.

Most will lean towards 2013 and I would probably agree. Just feel like it is closer than many give it credit for. Just my thoughts.

More important that this 2013 vs 2018 vs 2019 is that these are three of the four best teams ever in this division, with a 2020 team that will be just as good or better. 'Best of all time' appears to be the baseline of NDSU football right now.

Hold on just a little. In 2013 UNI led 23-10 after three quarters and NDSU scored the winning TD with 2:13 left at the Dome. UNI finished the year 7-5.

SIU was ahead 10-7 at the half before losing 31-10. They also finished 7-5.

I forget the 2017 team, absolutely crushed by injuries, is arguably the 5th best FCS team of all time. What that team could have been.
