SS understatement of the decade: "We need better players."
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Can you imagine the intros on SNL...Trey Lance, Michigan.

But with Hedberg as his QB coach and the fact that the last two NDSU QBs have been drafted, I think he will stay until after his junior year and then declare.
I would argue that after wentz going 2nd overall that he has a better chance to hurt his draft stock more than help it by transferring.

Trey is a stud and probably my favorite player ever. But he can improve so much. The passing game was conservative with him and understandably so, since he is young and leaning. Much like Easton, he can take his game to the next level in future years. To be a high pick in the NFL, he will need a greater body of work and take his passing game to the next level, which he will get the chance. So excited for the future

Totally agree with this statement. Wentz's success in the NFL will definitely reduce the narrative of "ya, but level of competition". If he transfers and isn't as dominant, his stock will fall.

I am not sure where Trey is on graduating in 4 years, but the only way I see him transferring is if he is too bored. Truth be told, if he wins the next two national championships and another WP award, he might simply want another challenge. I wouldn't fault him for doing it either.

But....if he wins the next two national championships, another WP award and drastically progresses as a passer, he will be leaving early for the draft versus staying another year at NDSU or transferring. Whenever he gets a consensus 2nd round grade and better, he is gone IMO.

Maybe I'm delusional, but I see shades of Patrick Mahomes when I watch Trey play.
