This sounds like a great question for JMU and perhaps NCAA.

The fact that he IS still there I think tells us all we need to know about the great culture of JMU.

This is an actual quote from their fan post - granted it was a response to Lakes, but still ....

I will give them the first part of that post. The 2017 JMU team was one of the best FCS teams ever and easily the best FCS team to not win the chipper. That has to.sting a little every time they think about it. As for the rest of the post....Lakes clearly got the best of him.

This is essentially what I said to my mom when I was 5 years old and she asked me to clean up my room, without the stadium and pay parts. I'm an adult now, I know better. Apparently that's not a thing if you're a dook.

During the jmu game saturday, the announcer mentioned that Stapleton had dated Cignetti's daughter "back in Pennsylvania."
For whatever that's worth.
