Freshman Max Otterdahl had an impressive debut this past weekend for NDSU at the Dakota Classic at the Ellig Complex.

His SHOT PUT throw of 62' 8 1/2" placed 3rd and puts him in 4th place on the All-Time Indoor Best List for NDSU.

NDSU's Kristoffer Thomsen PRd in the SHOT PUT taking 2nd with a mark of 63' 4" moving him up to #3 All-Time.

In winning the SHOT PUT for the Bison, Alex Talley remains in the #2 spot All-Time with an indoor PR of 64' 1 1/4.

After the first week of indoor meets across the country, the Bison men have 5 SHOT PUT throwers in the top 14.

#1, #3, #4, #12, and #14.

Four years ago in this Dakota Classic meet, as a freshman, big brother Payton threw the SHOT 56' 11 1/2".

The Bison Track & Field teams will host the Bison Cup meet at the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility this Saturday morning starting at 11:00 AM.

I am excited to watch freshman Max Otterdahl in the WEIGHT THROW and SHOT PUT.

Alex Talley becomes the 3rd Bison (all-time) to crack the 70 foot barrier in the weight throw.
He won the event this morning throwing 70' 2 1/4" coming within a quarter of an inch of Trevor Otterdahl's PR from last month.

Otterdahl finished 2nd going 67' 10 1/2".

Bison Men had 5 guys go 59 feet + in the SHOT PUT today.

At the Jack Johnson Classic at the U of M today, Alex Bartholomay PRd in the mile and finished as the top collegian running 4:07.73.

That puts him at #5 all-time and is the second best time in NDSU's D1 era.

According to the live results Payton has a current best throw of 21.81 meters. Or 71'6.66"
