Nothing gets the body ready for a football game like a gumbo feed.

I’m getting excited/pumped. Happens every Friday night for me. Adrenaline still kicks in after all these years. It’s fun!!

Let’s put some helmets on them!

Don't eat the gumbo. You'll spend Gameday in the outhouse. (No offense is intended to PL or Tatanka with this joke)

I'm excited too! Might be the only playoff I get to tomorrow

I get it, but my heart can't handle too many more close ones. Agree a blowout is a much better option.

I’m doing my duty by this weekend. Just arrived a few hours ago from NE. Ate at downtown Mexican Village (a tradition). Every year we came back for a home game since 2011, we won a natty...except one yr we couldn’t get back........ 2016! Hoping this coincidence continues. We’ve also been to all 7 NCs, and have our hotel as most of you do. Yet I’m always nervous for this first playoff game.

Maybe it’s just me, but something about CAS being positive just gets me feeling all warm and fuzzy.

Things I’ll be watching today include:

    - QB Fourcade, QB Fourcade, QB Fourcade, QB Fourcade...
Nicholls has exactly what a team needs to play well in the FargoDome for the 1st time, an experienced mobile QB who is a running/passing threat. Saw a UNI QB Will McElvain comp for Fourcade, makes sense only this is the 4th year starting version. Fourcade has quite a story, Fourcade being part of the new Head Coach - Coach Rebowe - and his program building efforts at Nicholls - nice to see another up-and-coming program in FCS.

More on the Chase Fourcade story - and his brother Taylor - here:

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.hou...emplate=ampart

The Fourcade family is a football family.

Chase's father, Keith Fourcade, was a standout linebacker from the West Bank of New Orleans who went on to play at Ole Miss in the 1980s and even played a year in the NFL with the Saints. His uncle, John Fourcade, is lauded as one of the best New Orleans high school quarterbacks of his era and also later played for the Rebels and Saints.
    - And again, can the Nicholls offense keep the NDSU offense off the field?
So will be watching the other playmakers, including thousand yard rusher Gums - 5.8 ypc - and WR Dixon - 19.6 ypc (yikes! Sounds like a future NFLer).
The Fighting Hawks ran what looked like to me to be a read/react kind of D against Nicholls. Saw lots of plays where there were 2 down linemen and 2 standup DE/LB. It played very soft imo and RB Gums had all sorts of time to pick his gap. Can’t see that style today......rather, how does the Nicholls OLine hold up against the Bison DLine rotation?

    - Sully Laiche is good! 36.5 career sacks! Am looking forward to seeing the Bison run power against Nicholls. How does he do against pulls & traps and such, does it slow down his pass rush? Don’t know if Laiche is a common name in LA, but his cousin (?) may be a better athlete!
