Just saw the Quincy news on Twitter this morning... my co-worker is a VT grad and hige fan of their football team... apparently he was extremely well liked there! She said to watch the Virginia Tech vs. UNC game from 2019 with multiple overtimes to see a good example of Quicy's abilities.

She said QB built like a linebacker with a good arm

Another Interesting Tidbit: The Elite 11 Regional that Trey Lance attended selected Quincy Patterson as a an Elite 11 Finalist.

NDSU succession plans at QB had to have been thrown for a loop with Trey declaring for the draft his sophomore year. No way they planned for that. Picking up Zeb as a transfer and possibly another to bridge the recruiting gap makes a lot of sense.

I hope he has a better throwing form than SDSU's linebacker QB.

That’s partly it. Obviously they wouldn’t go this route if Trey stayed. But I also think Entz is way more open to FBS transfers than Klieman or Bohl were.

Just to give you an idea of the caliber this guy was when he was being recruited out of high school. Ivy League offers too so you know he's smart as hell. The level of offers is bigger than anything we've ever seen. I guess when you get 3 straight NFL QB's drafted including 2 first round pics, you can take things to another level

Yeah, Patterson was the same recruiting class and on the same eligibility clock as Trey so it fits well to add him into the current shuffle of QBs on the roster.

NDSU definitely needs a couple of bridge years at QB. I'm fully on board with what they did picking up Zeb and going after Quincy. They are facing a unique situation at a key position. With signing Cole the regular recruiting system hasn't skipped a beat so it's not like they are changing a proven system, just adjusting to the circumstances outside of their control.

Obviously... but with the success we've had with playing young QB's... we can win with a redshirt freshman so a guy like this is able to start if he gets a full year to learn

Brayden Thomas from Mankato is another transfer to keep an eye on. Nice catch SamsRams this morning!
