Is it just me or is recruiting seem behind on verbal commitments compared to other year's ?
Matt Weertz picks U of Arizona.... committed. will play brother Luke in 2022
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
I decided to look at this because it does seem slower. Then again, January seems like it happened in a different century.
When I update the Recruiting Summary threads, I put a post in so we can go back and see when a verbal was made.
Currently NDSU has 6 verbals.
In the 2020 class, we got our 6th verbal on June 24th.
2019: June 25th.
2018: June 26th
2017: Looks like I didn't put a post in for each addition (looks like early July)
So far, NDSU is on track. The problem is that it seems like most of our verbals come right at the end of June, after the camp.
2020: 14 verbals by the end of June
2019: 13
2018: 13
So we're going to be behind soon. Just don't see how players can be evaluated that well - losing the camps is a huge deal and makes recruiting a crap shoot.
A name that NDSU keeps in touch with:
Isaac Zatechka - 6’ 4” 276 - OL - Elkhorn NE (South)
Visited Fargo last fall. Played C last season.
Does have offers from Montana State, University of Mary, Augustana.
Same school as 2021 NDSU offer Makhi Nelson-Douglas (LB)
A big * for Zatechka is that his Dad played for the Cornhuskers...
Will be interesting to see how invested teams get in his recruitment - you never know until ya try, but that walk-on program for Nebraska can be tough to overcome, especially for a legacy. That being said, haven’t seen a PWO offer yet from the Huskers.
