Pretty simple. He was the 10th highest paid coach in the big 10. They have won 12 of 14 actually, spanking a one time highly ranked gopher team in Madison. Although the big ten west might be down, they are still pounding them versus close out of conference games.

And this is the second school that PJ has had success.

If you look at the contract, it is really a $1 million pay raise for next year (and forward) couple of extra years and a million more per year for the assistants (nice move). But in many regards its a one year deal and we do it all again. $10 million buyout next year, drops to $4.2 million year after. So end of 2020 we will have the same conversation again with his new extension.
